PTC Grants and Donations

PTC Therapeutics is committed to helping the lives of patients and families within our communities. Part of this commitment includes providing grants to support high quality programs that are focused on rare diseases and to make meaningful contributions globally.

Please share all grant requests with the local UK office at ukoffice@ptcbio.com for initial review and feedback by the local UK PTC team. All grant requests will also need to be submitted to the PTC review committee for consideration and must have clear objectives and be in alignment with areas of interest to PTC. A complete grant proposal should be submitted 60 days prior to program start date.

Please note, sponsorships are not part of the PTC Grant Program. If you are seeking financial support for a sponsorship, which is support for events or programs whereby PTC receives a tangible benefit (e.g. an annual membership in a professional society, an opportunity to set up an exhibit, display table or booth at the event, seats at a gala or a PTC speaking opportunity), the request is not a grant but is considered a sponsorship and is covered by a separate PTC procedure. Please contact your local PTC representative for submission of any sponsorship requests.

UK Organisations

PTC UK will consider grant (provision of funds) and donation (non-financial support) requests from any UK or Ireland based organisation, including international organisations based in the UK or Ireland to facilitate activities that support healthcare, scientific research or education. It applies to healthcare organisations, patient organisations, medical organisations, education providers and all other organisations. Donations and grants to individuals are prohibited. In general, donations are physical items, services or benefits-in-kind which may be offered or requested. Grants are the provision of funds.

Examples may include grant requests to support independent accredited education, quality improvement, or research that is intended to improve patient outcomes in areas of unmet medical need.

For all independent medical grants, the grant recipient is responsible for the design, implementation, sponsorship, and conduct of the independent initiative supported by the grant, including compliance with any regulatory requirements.

PTC must not be involved in any aspect of project development, nor its conduct or monitoring.

Investigator Initiated Studies are unsolicited studies in which the investigator conceives the research, develops the protocol, and serves as the sponsor. PTC provides support in the form of a medical research grant. All IIS requests will be submitted to the PTC review committee comprised of medical and scientific personnel for consideration. Independent requests must have clear objectives and be in alignment with areas of interest to PTC. The committee evaluates the requests based on set criteria and evaluation process. A complete IIS proposal should be submitted 60 days prior to program start date. Click here to complete a request for IIS funding.
